Dogs are generally one of the cutest creatures on the planet and it is very difficult to imagine them harming a human. But even the biggest dog lover has to admit that these fur babies still feel like our kids, they're still animals. It's important to remember that sometimes natural instincts have to step in.

10Owners of dog recordings
It was a bitterly cold January 2018 in the remote Saratov regionRussia. A 64-year-old man named Sergei Terekhov was hunting rabbits with his brother and dog. After he was done, he sat down and rested his double-barreled shotgun on his knee with the barrels pointed at him. His Estonian greyhound wanted some affection after the successful expedition, so he jumped into his lap. His paw accidentally triggered the gun, which shot Terekhov in the gut.
The abdomen is reportedly one of the most painful places to get shot. Terekhov's brother called an ambulance and tried to stop the bleeding while they waited for help to arrive. Unfortunately, Terekhov was bleeding profusely and they were both abandoned outdoorsfreezing. Terekhov died before the ambulance could get him to a hospital.[1]
9Dog drowns child
In 1936, a 14-year-old boy named Maxwell Breeze of Brockport, New York was swimming in a local canal when a dog swam towards him and began attacking and forcing him underwater. Hedrowned, and local witnesses blamed the dog for his death.
Back then, animals were still taken to court if something went wrong. The dog slept during most of the court proceedings. More than 500 listeners were excited to see what the result would look like. In the end, the judge ordered the dog to be locked in its owner's home and yard for two years. If he was ever to be seen in public during his probationary period, it would be the dogsentenced to death.
The little boy's mother was so angry that she said she wished she had a gun so she could kill the dog herself.[2]
8A pack of strays devours the little boy
For years there were no laws prohibiting dogs from roamingstreetsunaccompanied. Without dog catchers and the daily reporting ofThe price is correctTo spay and neuter your pets, there have been packs of dogs roaming neighborhoods across the United States. These dogs were wild and hungry.
In 1959, a two-and-a-half-year-old toddler was playing in a vacant lot next to his family's home in suburban St. Louis when a pack of ten feral dogs surrounded him and began attacking. He died and the dogs nibbled at his body. The boy's parents heard the commotion, and the father began hitting the dogs with a club. The alpha male lunged at the father, who just managed to pick up his little boy's limp body off the ground.
People in the neighborhood formed oneangry crowd, grab their guns and pitchforks to go after those wild dogs and avenge the boy's life. For the rest of the week, locals called their local police station whenever they saw a dog walking around. No one was sure if these dogs were truly feral or if they were pets allowed to roam free.[3]
7Wolf-dog hybrid kills baby
Over the years there have been dozens of horrific cases of dogs killing newborns. Sometimes the dog's jealousy is blamed for not being the baby of the family anymore. Sometimes it seems like the dog thinks the baby is a new toy. At this point, it should be common sense to never leave a dog alone with an infant, regardless of their breed, but especially if they are partWolf.
A family in Jonesville, Virginia had just brought in their new oneBabyMarch 2018 home from the hospital. They owned a very large wolf-dog hybrid that had never met an infant before. One day the door to the children's room was left open. The dog stood over the cradle and began to maul the upper half of the eight-day-old baby's body. Unfortunately, the infant did not survive.
The parents took the dog to the shelter and he was put down.[4]
6Pack of Pitbulls Maul Man
All De'trick Johnson wanted was to have hisAutoworked on. He called a local business in Pine Pluff, Arkansas, one afternoon in March 2015 to schedule an early morning appointment for a service on his car. The owner, John Chester Smith, encouraged him to stop by and he promised he could get the job done early in the morning before Johnson had to go to work.
When Johnson showed up at CJ's garage, he was greeted by a pack of seven pit bulls. They were all angry and barked viciously at him as he got out of his car. He knew he was no match for the dogs, so he tried to climb onto his car. The dogs jumped onto the vehicle and dragged its legs to the ground. He knew his only chance was to run, but the pit bulls caught up to him.
It turned out that there were several peoplebittenby the guard dogs in CJ's garage, but the owner hadn't done anything about it. The dogs were let loose after the incident and local sheriffs had to chase them down before they could hurt anyone else. They were able to capture two of the dogs and take them to a shelter, but the other five were so vicious and violent that they had to be shot.[5]
5Dogs kill their owners
In December 2017, Bethany Stephens took her two pit bulls for a walk in the woods behind her home in Virginia. She had raised the dogs since they were puppies and according to friends and family, they had a great, loving relationship. This was her normal routine to get some exercise. They walked about 1.6 kilometers (1 mile) into theWald. For some reason, the dogs decided to attack Stephens.
When her body was found, she had deep bite marks all over, including a pierced skull. Police described the scene as "grisly" and had a hard time retrieving her body from the dogs, who were still guarding and growling.
Family and friends were so shocked that they completely denied that the dogs had actually killed them. They suspected that maybe someone had murdered Stephens in the woods and the dogs had only bitten them to wake them up. The rumors spread like wildfire on social media and people started to believe them.[6]
Thepolicewere so fed up with the rumors that they released the crime scene photos to local media to set the record straight. Once you see the scene there is absolutely no doubt that the dogs did it. According to those who saw the body, the carnage was unlike anything they had ever seen before.
4Boerboels kill breeders

Also known as South African Mastiffs, Boerboels are among the largest and strongest dogs in the worldPlanet. Apparently they were bred specifically from mastiffs to be strong enough to take on a lion. The breed is very rare in the United States as not many people are looking for a guard dog of this level.
In 2017, a woman named Jane Marie Egle from Asheville, North Carolina imported six Boerboels with plans to breed puppies and sell them on the internet. She didn't know how to properly train or socialize these mammoth dogs and they became aggressive.
One day, Egle's daughter came home from school to find her mother lying on the floor, bleeding. When she tried to get through the front door to help her mother, a boerboel started barking aggressively at her and she was afraid to enter her own home. She had to call 911 for help.
When police arrived, they made several attempts to enter the home without harming the dog, but were forced to kill him to get to Egle's body. They checked the pulse and sure enough, Jane was dead. Local authorities called in a dog aggression expert to help pacify those who remainedcanines, but she said her behavior was the most horrific she's ever witnessed in her 20-year career.[7]
3Fox terrier rips open master's throat
Not all dog-related deaths are from large, stereotypically dangerous breeds. As early as 1901, people were struggling to figure out what to do in medical emergencies such as:epileptic seizures. A New Yorker named Carrie Cobus had a seizure and fell to the ground. Carrie's mother panicked and threw water on her daughter's face as if it would help her to get rid of it.
Her tiny fox terrier was nearby, barking at Carrie as she lay shivering on the floor. According to the newspapers, the dog went "crazy" and pounced on her throat, puncturing her carotid artery. Carrie's mother tried to pull the dog away from her daughter, but it wouldn't let go. She had to take a poker and stab the dog, chase him out of the house never to be seen again. Carrie lost way too muchbloodfrom the attack and she died.[8]
2Pet murders his boy
We all know that dogs arefaithfultheir owners, but it is very rare for a dog to have to choose between a conspecific and its young. In 1939, in Oklahoma, a woman named Fern Smith was on her property with her four-year-old son and their large dog. She had to get a bucket of water from the outdoor pump and let her son play with the dog while she did her chores.
The little boy spotted a little stray dog and started playing with it. The boy put a sack over the stray's head and laughed as he tried to escape. Although the big dog had protected his boy all his life, he couldn't seem to bear to watch the childabusethe stray a second longer. It pounced on his neck and lifted him up like a rag doll. The boy's carotid artery was punctured. The mother saw what was happening and ran screaming at her son. She managed to knock the big dog away, but it was too late.[9]
1Dog kills mother and son
They are in Germanyverbotenthe importation and breeding of pit bulls, Staffordshire terriers and Tosa Inu in 2000 due to a series of attacks on the breeds. They are considered far too dangerous to own. That didn't stop a family in Berlin from getting a Staffordshire Terrier as a pet. In March 2018, someone walked by her house and sensed something was wrong. They peeked through the window and noticed a woman and a man lying on the floor of their kitchen. They called the police, presumably on suspicion of having been the victim of a violent crime.
When police got there, they found that the 52-year-old mother and her 27-year-old son had both been killed by their dog. A forensic expert examined theBodyto rule out the possibility that a human could have done this, and concluded that the dog was in fact the killer. With no witnesses, no one really knows what happened to trick the dog into killing its owners or how it managed to kill two adults on its own.[10]
